In the Before, Rhok’delar was a hunter. His mission was to stalk the various demons and devils who assailed the forces of all that right and just, to prey upon them just as they sought to do against the archons of Shavarath, the Battlefield. In the Before, he was happy, able to practice his trade with a methodical fastidiousness that gained marks of approval for its thoroughness, even by the standards of creatures made of elemental Law. But all of that was the Before, the time prior to the Voice calling out to him. It required a champion for a most dangerous mission, whose ramifications could well alter the balance of power in the entire Great Orrery. Rhok could do nothing less than accept: To be summoned to assist in such a great mission, by a personage as esteemed as the Voice of the Silver Flame, was an honor beyond description. It was the opportunity of a lifetime, which was to be zealously seized.
A belief Rhok firmly held until he met Illutria Oscura, the woman who he was to protect at all costs. A young woman whom Rhok believed existed only to torment him with her penchants for frivolities and the asinine. Until she fell in with a certain band of adventurers and it was revealed that Illutria wasn’t real at all! Just the dreams of an eleven year-old girl, frantically crying out for help.
Now, his charge “dead” and filled with guilt over the way he’d treated her, Rhok’delar finds himself at a crossroads. As he is stranded on the Prime Material Plane and to return to Shavarath without seeing a resolution of the…situation with the Keeper/Antikeeper of the Flame would be shameful. Thankfully, the Khorvaire Venture Company seems filled with mostly Good sorts, so at least he might be of use in what is to come.
